- CACI will provide research and engineering support for the NSWC Carderock Division
- Work covers autonomous systems, maritime sensors and advanced naval platforms
- CACI CEO and seven-time Wash100 awardee John Mengucci stressed faster delivery of capabilities to Navy warfighters
CACI International has secured a four-year task order worth up to $145 million to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division’s maritime technology development efforts.
The company said Tuesday it will carry out research and engineering activities, test emerging technologies and create prototypes on an accelerated timeline across different maritime platforms. CACI will also assess new technologies, determine whether they perform as intended and incorporate those that prove successful into operational systems.
The task order covers technology development and integration for autonomous systems, maritime sensors and advanced naval platforms. The initiative supports Navy fleet readiness and long-term maritime superiority against evolving threats.

Turning defense research into capabilities that warfighters can use is a priority as the military explores emerging technologies. The Potomac Officers Club’s 2027 Defense R&D Summit on Feb. 4 will bring together government and industry leaders to discuss investment priorities, emerging defense technologies and maritime intelligence, including a panel on multi-sensor intelligence for the maritime domain. What Did CACI’s CEO Say About the NSWC Carderock Award?
CACI President and CEO John Mengucci, a seven-time Wash100 Award winner, said the Navy needs to translate emerging technologies into operational capabilities more quickly to maintain maritime superiority.
“Our work will help the Navy get critical technologies into the hands of warfighters sooner, giving them the capabilities they need to make better decisions and stay ahead of emerging threats,” he said.
What Other Navy Task Orders Has CACI Secured?
The latest award builds on a five-year, $85 million task order CACI received from NSWC Carderock in March to provide engineering, cybersecurity and technical support services. In January, the company booked a potential five-year, $416 million SeaPort-Next Generation task order to sustain and modernize IT systems for the Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution program.
CACI also announced Monday a five-year task order valued at up to $281 million from NSWC Crane to strengthen and advance next-generation electromagnetic warfare capabilities.
