Arlington Capital Partners Raises $6B for Fund VII

Arlington Capital Partners has closed its seventh private equity fund, Arlington Capital Partners VII, with $6 billion in capital commitments, surpassing its $4.75 billion target and reaching its hard cap in less than five months. The oversubscribed fund marks a 57 percent increase from the firm’s previous fund in 2023 and more than 250 percent growth compared to the fifth fund, which closed in 2019.

What Will ACP VII Support?

Arlington said ACP VII will extend its 26-year strategy of building transformative companies in industries critical to U.S. security and economic resilience. ACP VII will pursue long-term investment themes, including manufacturing and supply chain onshoring, next-generation defense technologies, cybersecurity, software for enhanced government efficiency and healthcare technology.

Managing Partners Matt Altman; Michael Lustbader, a 2025 Wash 100 Award recipient; Peter Manos; and David Wodlinger said rising national security spending, U.S. manufacturing revitalization and the expansion of government software and tech-enabled services are fueling demand for Arlington’s portfolio companies.

Since 1999, the firm has completed around 200 investments and has invested over $1 billion across 35 deals since early 2024. It has also executed multiple successful exits, including the recent sale of BlueHalo to AeroVironment.

“We are fortunate to have a world-class set of Limited Partners and are grateful for their strong continued support, reflected by re-up demand in Fund VII exceeding 115% from Fund VI,” the managing partners said in a joint statement. “Our investors represent a select group of leading pensions, asset managers, insurers, endowments, foundations, and other blue-chip institutions exclusively based in the U.S. and select allied countries.”

Evercore served as the exclusive global placement agent, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett acted as fund counsel.
