MAG Aerospace has agreed to acquire professional services firm AASKI Technology for an undisclosed sum in a deal that both parties expect to close during the second quarter.
The deal would add AASKI's engineering services and professionals as MAG aims to solidify its position in the command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance market, MAG said Monday.
AASKI is headquartered in Tinton Falls, N.J., and offers systems engineering, project and acquisition management, logistics, testing and network infrastructure support. The company holds spots on contract vehicles under the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, General Services Administration and Defense Information Systems Agency.
Baird and Holland & Knight LLP respectively acted as financial adviser and legal counsel of AASKI. Cooley and Ropes & Gray provided legal assistance to MAG.
“Similar to the recent MTEQ/QinetiQ announcement, C4ISR continues to be a big growth area in the market," John Song, a managing director of Baird, told GovCon Wire.
"AASKI has been successful in winning highly strategic contracts in the C4ISR market and MAG provides a significant amount of capabilities. Both companies have engineering and technical depth along with a shared passion for supporting the mission."
