The company said Friday the five-year firm-fixed price contract from the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory aims to streamline access to current Maven Smart System capabilities, which utilize advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Work is expected to enhance coordination between strategic and tactical operations allowing the military to make informed decisions and fast actions.
Maven Smart System, a critical component of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Maven AI framework, builds on existing Department of Defense investments to ensure all services work together and are capable of fight-tonight actions. The platform will support AI-enabled battlespace awareness, global integration, force management, contested logistics, joint fires and targeting workflows.
Akash Jain, president of Palantir USG and a previous Wash100 Award winner, stressed the project’s significance, saying, “Rapid fielding and adoption of critical technology —including the agile, effective, and responsible deployment of AI/ML—is essential for the United States to maintain its competitive advantage.”
Jain added that the contract vehicle will provide every military department with access to Maven to help them advance their own Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control initiatives.
