According to an award notice published Friday, Lockheed will continue efforts carried out under the previous Advanced Capabilities Development contract and work related to the development, integration and testing of hardware and software upgdates.
Contract Scope
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract also includes initial fielding; obsolescence surveillance and mitigation; information assurance and cybersecurity engineering; quality, safety and mission assurance; logistics support; and training products for THAAD upgrades and capabilities.
Work will occur in multiple sites, primarily in Sunnyvale, California, and Dallas, Texas.
The ordering period will run through Jan. 31, 2035.
MDA will issue the first task order worth $12.7 million for system test and evaluation work and will use fiscal 2025 research development test and evaluation funds to obligate $200,000 under this task order.

THAAD is designed to provide defense against short, medium and intermediate-range ballistic missile threats and intercept targets inside and outside the atmosphere.
