Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a potential one-year, $80 million contract modification to perform computer program baseline design work on Aegis combat systems aboard the U.S. Navys warships.
The service branch awarded the contract modification to exercise the options under the Aegis Combat System Engineering Agent program, the Defense Departmentsaid Monday.
The Aegis CSEA initiative covers development, design, systems engineering, testing, delivery and integration work on computer baselines and technology insertion-related hardware for the Aegis combat platforms future Advanced Capability Build.
Lockheed will perform work in New Jersey and Virginia through December 2016.
The Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate $12 million at the time of award from the military branchs shipbuilding and conversion funds for fiscal 2014 and research, development, evaluation and test funds for fiscal 2016.
