Kuwait to Purchase Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft Missiles, Munitions Under $397M FMS Deal

The State Department has cleared a potential $397 million purchase request from the government of Kuwait for missiles, bombs, tail kits and other equipment in support of its Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft fleet.

The potential foreign military sales transaction will include 60 AIM-120 C-7/8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, several hundred MK-84/84 General Purpose 2000LB bombs, 350 KMU-556 Joint Direct Attack Munition tail kits and other munitions, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) businesses will serve as principal contractors under the possible FMS deal and will be required to provide support services such as engineering, technical and logistics, as well as deliver AMRAAM containers, spare and repair parts and weapons support and software to Kuwait.

The Middle Eastern country seeks to strengthen its military capability against regional threats with the Eurofighter Typhoon fleet and the missiles and munitions for the aircraft.
