Honeywell Added to $409M USAF Contract for Thermal, Power & Controls R&D Services

Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) has joined the list of awardees on a potential $409 million contract to research and develop thermal, power and controls technologies for future U.S. Air Force platforms and engines.

The Defense Department said Friday Honeywell will perform work under the Next Generation Thermal, Power, and Controls program — a multi-government agency and industry effort that seeks to roll out new technologies by 2024.

The Air Force Research Laboratory received seven proposals for the contract through a competitive procurement process.

The military branch named Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as the NGT-PAC contract’s first awardee on June 30.

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and United Technologies Corp.‘s (NYSE: UTC) Pratt and Whitney subsidiary also secured positions on the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract on July 11, followed by General Electric (NYSE: GE) on July 19.
