What Are the Details of the Series D Funding Round?

New investors, including Advent International, Bessemer Venture Partners, DFJ Growth and BAM Elevate, participated in the Series D funding round.

Existing investors 8VC, Caffeinated Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Elad Gil and Franklin Templeton also joined the round.

Dino Mavrookas, co-founder and CEO of Saronic, said the company is pursuing a new model of American shipbuilding that integrates first-principles engineering, advanced manufacturing and software-defined production to deliver autonomous vessels with increased speed, precision and scale.

“The new capital will accelerate Saronic’s ability to bring that model to life, generate entirely new classes of autonomous ships and maritime capabilities, and scale U.S. shipbuilding capacity on a timeline not seen since World War II,” added Mavrookas.

How Will Saronic Use the Capital?

Saronic said it will use the capital to expand its shipbuilding capacity and accelerate production of autonomous surface vessels.

The company is developing Port Alpha, a next-generation shipyard, and expanding existing production facilities in Louisiana and Texas.

Saronic also plans to scale its portfolio of autonomous vessels, including the 24-foot Corsair and the 180-foot Marauder, and advance artificial intelligence-driven maritime capabilities.

The company said it will explore additional platforms across the maritime domain, including technologies spanning surface and subsurface operations.
