General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Ellwood National Forge have won a $682.9 million contract with the U.S. Army to produce BLU-109 penetrator bomb bodies and parts for Turkey under a foreign military sales agreement.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the companies will manufacture the bomb bodies and components through Dec. 31, 2020.
The BLU-109 bomb can operate as either a guided or unguided weapon and is used to produce a GBU-24/A penetrator bomb with the addition of a laser guidance kit.
The Army Contracting Command received three bids for the contract via an Internet solicitation.
