Alion Science and Technology has expanded its leadership team with the creation of the chief strategy officer position and appointment of a new chief technology officer in support of defense clients efforts to maintain military readiness and technological edge.
Christopher Zember, formerly CTO at Alion Science, will serve as CSO and oversee the companys corporate strategy with a focus on engineering and technology platforms, Alion said Monday.
Todd Borkey
Zember joined the McLean, Virginia-based technology services contractor in October 2016 after serving as director of the National Defense Universitys Center for Technology and National Security Policy.
He worked at the Defense Department as director of the agencys information analysis centers and held roles at Acuity Consulting and the National Security Agency.
Todd Borkey, formerly CTO and vice president of systems solutions at Thales defense and security business, has been selected to succeed Zember as Alion CTO and will manage the companys technology roadmap, operations and relationships.
Borkey held senior leadership roles at defense contractors such as Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Leonardo DRS defense solutions business.
These leadership actions are part of our strategy to maximize capabilities and give the U.S. an edge at the point of need, said Alion CEO Steve Schorer, who joined the company in May.
