John Sims to Head BlackBerry Global Enterprise Services; John Chen Comments

blackberry logoJohn Sims, a 20-year mobile telecommunications veteran, has been appointed president of the global enterprise services business at BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY).

Sims will move to BlackBerry in January from SAP (NYSE: SAP), where he most recently served as president of the mobile services division, BlackBerry said Tuesday.

John Chen, BlackBerry executive chairman and CEO, said Sims will work with the company’s leaders on the ongoing reorganization and transition efforts, including the new BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system.

Prior to SAP, Sims held roles at Tandem Computers, TANTAU Software, 724 Solutions and Intrado.

Sims is also on the executive committee and board of directors of industry trade group CTIA.
