The company is contracted to build up to 242 wings and the Air Force has ordered 173 wings, Boeing said Wednesday.
According to Boeing, the mission availability of A-10s will increase by around 4 percent and maintenance costs will go down by $1.3 billion over the next 30 years.
A-10 planes are used for close air support of ground forces and to target adversarial ground targets such as tanks and other armored vehicles.
