The move represents the first milestone of a potential seven-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to consolidate DOL data centers and eventually migrate these to a cloud environment, Lockheed said Tuesday.
Frank Armijo, Lockheed vice president of energy solutions, said the company has been working with other contractors to help the department implement sustainable information technology practices.
FDCCI aims for government agencies to save energy and secure databases through data center consolidation.
Lockheed says it also has contracts with eight U.S. utility companies for energy efficiency, smart grid and cybersecurity projects.
