Inacker will lead Siemens’ external and internal communications and report directly to president and CEO Peter Löscher beginning Oct. 1, Siemens said Thursday.
The company intends to appoint current corporate communications and government affairs lead and more than 20 year company veteran Stephan Heimbach as head of corporate affairs and government affairs.
“With our new structures in the fields of communications and government affairs, we’ll also be even better positioned for dialogue with the media, the general public, governments and society, ” added Löscher.
Inacker was a member of Handelsblatt’s editorial team since 2012 after serving in various German publications, including as journalist at the weekly WELT am SONNTAG, capital city lead of Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and assistant EIC of business magazine WirtschaftsWoche.
He worked as planning head for the CEO of Daimler AG and steered the company’s government and external affairs for eight years and headed METRO’s corporate communications and government affairs for three years, Siemens said.
