Ali Ruwaih has been appointed vice president and general manager of training, logistics and simulation, or TLS, at Lockheed Martin‘s Rotary and Mission Systems business area, the company said Wednesday. Ruwaih takes over the role from Jonathon Wells, who has moved into a new position leading the company’s sensors, effectors and mission systems business.
Ruwaih expressed his gratitude for his appointment and his excitement about working with the new team.
“I am honored to take on this role and work alongside the talented professionals across the Training, Logistics and Simulation team who bring our mission to life every day,” said Ruwaih. “I look forward to connecting with our employees, customers, partners, suppliers and the Orlando community as we continue advancing capabilities that support mission readiness around the world.”
Who Is Ali Ruwaih?
Ruwaih has spent more than two decades at Lockheed Martin since joining in 2003, with a career that has taken him through aviation, radar, sustainment, maritime systems and international program work.
Before taking the TLS role, Ruwaih served as VP of Sikorsky maritime systems, where he focused on program execution and business growth. He was also VP of autonomy, intelligence and maritime solutions and director of the Crowsnest and Merlin programs. He also spent three years at Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, where he led both the Aircraft and Aftermarket programs.
Earlier in his career, Ruwaih served as a subcontracts senior manager and held program management roles supporting the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement, Space Fence and International Naval Radars programs. He was also a technical assistant to the VP and GM of the integrated warfare systems and sensors line of business and an Operations Leadership Development Program associate. He started his career at Lockheed Martin as a software engineer.
What Will Ruwaih Oversee at Lockheed Martin?
Ruwaih will oversee a workforce exceeding 4,500 people worldwide, with responsibility for growing and carrying out the company’s programs tied to mission readiness, training and sustainment. The Innovation Circle facility in Orlando falls under his general manager duties.
Ruwaih’s appointment is the latest leadership change involving Lockheed Martin’s RMS business area. In March, the company appointed Mark Kvasnak, then RMS vice president and CFO, as vice president of investor relations.
