Who Is Sean DuGuay?
DuGuay is a government contracting executive with experience in corporate growth and in national security and defense programs. He has served in the GovCon industry since 1996 at companies of various sizes, from small businesses to large contractors.
He most recently served as chief growth officer at Aretum, joining the company in December 2024. Then-CEO and two-time Wash100 Award winner Rohit Gupta said at the time that DuGuay’s GovCon experience would help Aretum enter “new and adjacent mission areas” and better serve government customers.
Before joining Aretum, DuGuay was president and chief revenue officer at M9 Solutions and principal for national security and defense at Capgemini. He also held the role of director of business development at Excella Consulting for three years. DuGuay was previously the CRO at Visionary Integration Professionals and has held leadership roles at Aljon Consulting, SESC, LRN, Ciber, CGI and Federated IT.
Earlier in his career, DuGuay served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than a decade, including at Marine Barracks 8th & I in Washington, D.C., where he participated in multiple White House engagements. An expert in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, DuGuay has participated in multiple Potomac Officers Club events focused on federal acquisition and homeland security. He moderated panels at the organization’s 2023 and 2024 Homeland Security Summits. M9 Solutions, where DuGuay was working at the time, was a sponsor of both events, which included a 2024 discussion on the Department of Homeland Security’s AI Corps. The AI Corps is a specialized team initially led by former Office of Management and Budget official Michael Boyce, focused on advancing the responsible use of AI tools to enhance cybersecurity, strengthen critical infrastructure and deliver immigration services, among other strategic mission areas.
What Is Catapult Growth Partners?
Washington, D.C.-based Catapult Growth Partners is an advisory firm formed in 2020 through the combination of consulting businesses led by GovCon industry veterans Michael Polmar of Growth Partners Solutions, Mark Johnson of 3A Broker Services and JP Foley of Foley Ventures.
Catapult offers business and strategy development support to small and midsize government contractors. Its work ranges from helping companies enter the federal market, find opportunities and assemble teams to transaction support and business transformation.
The firm’s leadership team also includes five client delivery partners with decades of federal market experience. According to Catapult, its partners have worked in the federal market for a combined total of more than 600 years and can draw on contacts with tens of thousands of executives in government and industry.
Catapult also works with Data Room AI to bring AI into federal business development. The firm said the technology handles many of the time-consuming, manual tasks involved in federal sales, allowing clients to compete for more contracts without expanding their workforce.
