MITRE announced Thursday that it has appointed its managing director, Glenn Daly, as vice president of engineering and analysis, placing him at the helm of the organization’s new Center for Engineering and Analysis, or CEA.
“Glenn has a strong record of bringing teams together to solve difficult technical problems for the Department of War, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Intelligence Community,” said Mark Peters, president and chief executive officer of MITRE and a two-time recipient of the Wash100 Award. “In this role, he will focus that expertise on delivering capabilities that work in the field and advance the mission.”
What Is Glenn Daly’s Career Background?
Daly brings 25 years of technical and leadership experience, joining MITRE in 2001 as a digital/microprocessor engineer. He advanced through a series of technical positions, eventually serving as mission director of the division supporting the Office of the Secretary of War within MITRE’s National Security sector.
In his new position, Daly will help build and maintain the core engineering and analytic capabilities that underpin the missions of the federal agencies behind the federally funded research and development centers MITRE manages.
At CEA, Daly will lead technical teams of engineers, scientists, analysts and strategists working across infrastructure, network and connections; systems engineering; modeling and analysis; signals and electronics; and emerging technologies. Under his leadership, the center aims to strengthen ties between these capabilities and the broader work supporting the critical challenges facing MITRE’s sponsors.
What Are the Other Recent Changes at MITRE?
In recent months, MITRE has been making changes to its leadership. Three months before Daly’s appointment, MITRE elected Samantha Ravich to its board of trustees. Ravich is part of the Idaho National Laboratory, serving as vice chair of the strategic advisory committee for national and homeland security. In February, MITRE named Christopher Land, former general counsel of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary to its board of trustees.
