Former Boeing Executive Rik Geiersbach Joins BWXT as Chief Strategy Officer

Rik Geiersbach, a long-time Boeing executive, has been named chief strategy officer at BWX Technologies.

BWXT said Monday Geiersbach, who will report directly to President and CEO Rex Geveden, will spearhead the development, implementation and integration of the company’s enterprise strategy and merger and acquisition activities.

“His deep experience in driving organic and inorganic growth initiatives will help secure our competitive positioning in the global security, clean energy and nuclear medicine markets we serve, as well as align our strategic priorities going forward,” said Geveden.

Geiersbach’s Career Achievements

Geiersbach joins BWXT after 16 years at Boeing, most recently as vice president of strategy and corporate development of the $30 billion Boeing Defense and Space business unit. He also served as vice president of corporate strategy, where he played a pivotal role in developing strategies to drive innovation, bolster productivity and facilitate growth.

The executive spent nearly three years at Northrop Grumman as corporate director of subcontracts and strategic alliances. Before that, he was with Bain & Company in a consultancy role. He started his private industry career at Deloitte Consulting as a senior manager from 1998 to 2004.

The new BWXT CSO served as a case officer in the CIA for seven years. He was tasked with recruiting and handling human assets and managing operational programs in multiple global stations.
