Serco Completes $327M Northrop MT&S Business Acquisition

Serco‘s U.S. subsidiary has expanded its live and virtual training capabilities for U.S. and international customers with the acquisition of Northrop Grumman‘s mission training and satellite ground network communications software business.

The $327 million transaction, which secured all necessary regulatory approvals and satisfied other customary closing conditions, advances mission-readiness solutions to address the increasingly complex demands of modern defense and space operations, Serco said Tuesday.

International Space Sector Footprint Expansion

In line with the acquisition, nearly 1,000 experienced professionals in digital engineering, software development, satellite ground communications software, training and mission simulation from the Northrop business segment will join Serco, supporting the latter’s expansion goals within the international space sector, including growing its business in the United Kingdom, Australia and the Middle East.

“The integration of our existing and new capabilities in live and virtual training, and space markets, positions Serco to compete for larger and more complex projects,” said Tom Watson, CEO of Serco and a two-time Wash100 awardee. “We have complete confidence that Serco is now further aligned to support the U.S. military’s mission to enhance warfighter readiness.”
