Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a $474.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to enhance the electronic warfare capabilities of the main interceptor of the Japanese air force.
The company will install a new radar called the Eagle Passive Warning Survivability System to the F-15 Eagle aircraft as part of the Japanese Super Interceptor upgrade program, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
An initial $76.4 million is being obligated by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center from Foreign Military Sales funds at the time of the sole-source contract award.
Work is scheduled to occur in St. Louis, Missouri through Dec. 31, 2028.
