Leidos said Tuesday the partnership intends to equip a pair of Bombardier Global 6500 business jets with communications and sensor systems for the two companies’ ATHENA-S bid.
The ATHENA-S program is seeking a new airborne platform with a larger payload capacity, better endurance and an increased standoff range.
L3Harris serves as a Bombardier jet operator for the Army’s Airborne Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare System and a sensor developer under the service branch’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System.
Meanwhile, Leidos will build on its special mission aircraft operations work with the branch through the Airborne Reconnaissance Targeting and Exploitation Multi-Mission Intelligence System program.
