He brings to Comtech nearly 30 years of legal expertise across defense and commercial sectors and will lead the development of development and implementation of corporate legal strategy, export control, trade compliance, contracts, security and growth initiatives across U.S. and international markets, the company said Wednesday.
Comtech President and CEO Ken Peterman said Walther is a trusted adviser across tech and aerospace sectors and brings his skillset and expertise to the position as the company expands its presence into new markets and launches new as-a-service business models.
Walther most recently served as CLO and corporate secretary at Robotic Research.
He also held general counsel and executive positions at several companies, including API Technologies, TopBuild, Esterline, The Heico Companies, ITT and Boeing (NYSE: BA).
Yelena Simonyuk will continue to serve as general counsel in support of Comtech’s board and help address legal matters related to the Security and Exchange Commission and other regulatory compliance efforts.
