Goldfein, former Air Force chief of staff, will bring to NSAB and Shield’s portfolio companies his insights and experience in capability integration across cybersecurity, space operations and information dominance within the Department of Defense, the venture capital firm said Wednesday.
Raj Shah, managing partner at Shield Capital and a previous Wash100 awardee, said Goldfein brings to the firm his expertise in how new technologies and approaches are transforming public and private sector organizations.
Goldfein is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institute, a senior adviser at Blackstone and chairman of the board at Draken International and Google Public Sector.
He helped advance cross-domain capabilities and the Joint All-Domain Command and Control concept during his time as the service branch’s chief of staff.
“I am looking forward to putting my experience in both the DoD as well as the private sector to work for companies interested in working in national security,” Goldfein said.
