Clayton Jones, a cybersecurity professional with more than two decades of combined industry and government experience, has been named chief technology officer at Reston, Virginia-based data analytics and security company Aperio Global.
He will aim to drive Aperio’s portfolio growth and work closely with its executive team to accelerate technology strategy, the company said Monday.
Earl Stafford Jr., CEO of Aperio, wrote in a LinkedIn post that Jones brings to the role an extensive experience working with federal, defense and intelligence agencies in cybersecurity efforts.
Jones previously held the CTO post at information technology services provider Rivera Group, where he managed EAGLE6, a machine learning-based cyber situational awareness platform.
His government career included cybersecurity and engineering work at the National Security Agency from 2001 to 2006. He also served as cyber lead and solution architect at U.S. European Command, cyber incident response team lead at U.S. Pacific Command and a system and network administrator at the U.S. Army.
