Raytheon has won a $9.9 million contract with the U.S. Navy for Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR). More specifically, S-band radar, x-band radar and radar suite controller. Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) will be supporting the U.S. Navy’s Future Service Combatant as well as other ship classes under the contract. Raytheon will provide the design, systems engineering studies and analyses, and a technology development plan for the S-band, X-band and radar suite controller systems.
“The envisioned commonality and scalability for the AMDR will help  reduce costs across the fleet while its advanced capabilities will provide no doubt-reliability and effectiveness for naval forces around the world — today and tomorrow, ” vice president of Raytheon IDS’ Seapower Capability Systems Robert Martin said in a statement.
