Stephen Kovac, vice president of global government and head of corporate compliance at Zscaler (Nasdaq: ZS), said the Trusted Internet Connections 3.0 draft guidance could help agencies remove barriers to cloud adoption and ensure cloud security through a zero-trust approach.
“Under TIC 3.0, industry partners can perform security services for agencies as long as they comply with government standards,” he wrote. “Furthermore, the telework guidance issued during the COVID-19 crisis allowed agencies to provide remote access for employees via a zero trust architecture that meets the requirements of TIC 3.0.”
Kovac mentioned secure access service edge-based services like the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program-certified Zscaler Cloud Security Platform that provide users secure connections to applications wherever they are.
“Zscaler also provides zero trust access to private applications in the data center or cloud without ever putting user traffic on the agency network,” he added.
Kovac discussed how the company implements the “cloud effect” approach to safeguard users worldwide within seconds of identifying a vulnerability through its cloud nodes.
