Pratt & Whitney Gets $174M Contract Option to Produce Additional F-35A Engines

Raytheon Technologies' (NYSE: RTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has received a $174.2M contract modification to manufacture 14 propulsion systems for the U.S. Air Force's F-35A conventional takeoff and landing aircraft.

Naval Air Systems Command exercised an option for the engine manufacturer to build lot 14 low-rate initial production F135-PW-100 systems, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

USAF will use fiscal 2020 aircraft procurement funds to cover the full obligated amount.

Pratt & Whitney was awarded a $762.5M lot 14 F-35 engine production contract in November 2019, when it was still operating under United Technologies Corp.
