A Bechtel Corp. subsidiary has secured a three-year, $1.21B contract modification to continue helping the U.S. Army operate the branch’s Pueblo Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant in Colorado.
The Department of Defense said Tuesday it expects Bechtel National Inc. to complete services under the modification by April 30, 2023.
Bechtel led an industry team composed of Battelle, Parsons and URS to design, build, test and manage the PCAPP facility after the consortium won a competition in 2002.
PCAPP is built to safely dispose of the stockpile of chemical weapons stored at the Army Pueblo Chemical Depot in Colorado. It has destroyed nearly 1,370 tons of agents as of March 27, according to data from the branch.
