Stephanie Turner, human resources professional with 25 years of industry experience, has been named vice president of inclusion, diversity and social innovation at Mitre.
She will oversee I&D, talent acquisition and corporate social responsibility initiatives as well as lead the establishment of a social innovation-focused function in her new position, Mitre said Tuesday.
Turner will be based in McLean, Va., and aims to help the nonprofit company strengthen relationships with third-party organizations in efforts to promote STEM education in underserved communities.
Her professional background also covers strategic planning, process improvement, professional development, employee engagement and multicultural marketing.
Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and two-time Wash100 awardee, said the organization has always sought to bring a strong social impact to the community.
Providakes added the company seeks to demonstrate its "commitment to social innovation and change in our communities by fostering more collaboration and building networks.
