Jim Moos, chief operating officer and deputy president of Leidos™ (NYSE: LDOS) civil group, has been named president of the civil group on an interim basis, the Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday.
He succeeds Angela Heise, who has led the unit since 2016. A spokeswoman for Leidos said Heise is stepping down to pursue personal interests and spend more time with her family.
Moos joined the company in 2013 as president of its health and engineering group. He has held technical and leadership roles at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC).
He worked on projects related to the dismantlement of nuclear fuel facilities during his time at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Morrison Knudsen. He also served in the U.S. Navy for six years.
