Anthony Toby OBrien, chief financial officer of Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), will become CFO of the combined company once Raytheon and United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) complete their merger.
Thomas Kennedy, chairman and CEO of Raytheon and a 2019 Wash100 winner, announced OBriens appointment at the Morgan Stanley 7th Annual Laguna Conference on Thursday in Dana Point, Calif., Raytheon said Thursday.
In June, Raytheon and UTX agreed to merge in an all-stock deal to form a platform-agnostic technology provider Raytheon Technologies – within aerospace and defense segments. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2020.
OBrien has been serving as a vice president and CFO of Raytheon since 2015. He oversees the companys financial strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
He has held several leadership roles at Raytheon, including CFO of the firms integrated defense systems business, VP of finance and senior finance executive for the companys landed companies and airline aviation services.
