Raytheon to Support UK's Smallsat Development Efforts via Public-Private Collaboration; Dave Wajsgras Quoted

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has agreed to join the Artemis Industry Association under an agreement with the U.K. ministry of defense to help the British government further its small satellite programs and develop space technology platforms.

The company said Friday it intends to apply its decades of space system development experience to support the U.K.’s efforts to demonstrate a smallsat platform within a year through the public-private collaboration.

Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services segment and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said the agreement builds on the company™s work delivering satellite mission planning and data processing offerings to clients around the world.

Richard Daniel, CEO of Raytheon’s U.K. arm, said the business has previously worked with the defense ministry on joint efforts spanning defense, cyber and aerospace technology development. Artemis-IA was officially established in 2007 and is comprised of industry, government academic entities across Europe that conduct R&D work on embedded intelligent systems.
