General Dynamics™ (NYSE: GD) information technology business, has received a potential seven-year, $99M contract from the Federal Aviation Administration to design, install and maintain FAA™s Data, Visualization, Analysis and Reporting System.
The company said Tuesday the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a two-year base term and five option years.
œThrough this contract, GDIT will provide wide-spread analysis capabilities to ensure the National Airspace System infrastructure remains safe and evolves with the best commercial technology advancements, said John Ludecke, a vice president and general manager at General Dynamics Information Technology and head of GDIT™s transportation sector.
GDIT will incorporate custom software components, commercial offerings and other technological enhancements into DVARS to help FAA access data and conduct analyses on NAS operations.
The company expects DVARS to introduce new user technologies to the airspace and assess their performance.
