CACI has promoted Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Growth Marcie Small to executive vice president and chief human resources officer, the company said Monday.
Small takes over the role from Angie Combs, who is retiring after more than seven years with the Reston, Virginia-based government contractor.
“Marcie’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping CACI’s talent strategies for the future and strengthening the workforce that powers our success,” said John Mengucci, president and CEO of CACI and a seven-time recipient of the Wash100 Award. “I have complete confidence that she will build on Angie’s meaningful impact while continuing to advance initiatives that support our long-term growth.”
What Is Small’s Career Background?
Small brings more than 25 years of human capital management experience to the role, with a background in modernizing talent strategies, developing leaders and building high-performing personnel.
Small has spent 15 years at CACI, moving through roles of increasing responsibility within the company’s human resources organization. As senior vice president of talent acquisition and growth, she worked to modernize CACI’s talent ecosystem, reshape leadership development and launch programs aimed at building the company’s future talent pipeline.
Before joining CACI, Small worked as a recruiter and account manager in IT companies TG Federal, TEKsystems and MCI, now Verizon Business. She also served as a talent acquisition specialist and senior consultant at BearingPoint and a contract recruiter at CareerBuilder and Fannie Mae.
What Are the Other Executive Changes at CACI?
Small’s appointment comes a month after Tom Kirkland rejoined CACI as executive vice president of electronic warfare. He was with the company from 2016 to 2020, serving as vice president of business development and chief growth officer.
In June, CACI announced that it selected former Lockheed Martin National Security Space General Manager Dave Young as executive vice president and chief operating officer. In the same month, DeEtte Gray retired as president of U.S. operations after being in the position for almost 10 years.
