Maxar Technologies‘ (NYSE: MAXR) Radiant Solutions subsidiary has received a potential $92M contract option to help the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency prototype, build and implement crowdsourcing and machine learning technologies.

Radiant Solutions aims to further develop its DeepCore computer vision software development kit and Tomnod platform under the third phase of NGA’s Small Business Innovation Research program, Maxar said Thursday.

Both technologies are intended to help analysts process huge amounts of remote sensing data, perform broad area search and examine patterns of life worldwide.

“We are excited to expand our SBIR Phase III partnership with NGA and apply commercial innovation in machine learning and crowdsourcing to difficult national security problems,” said Tony Frazier, president of Radiant Solutions and a three-time Wash100 awardee.

“We are fully committed to helping the NGA harness the massive potential of Commercial GEOINT to reveal insights where and when it matters to build a better world,” Frazier added.

The exercised option also includes support for the NSG Open Mapping Enclave designed to help multidomain users produce or alter foundation GEOINT for mapping and analysis efforts.

Radiant Solutions will participate in the SBIR Phase III program via an ongoing investment in the Signature Analyst predictive modeling engine.
