General Dynamics Wins $18M Navy Ship Modification

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics-NASSCO (NYSE: GD), San Diego, Calif., a $18, 092, 326 modification to a previously awarded contract for the USS Peleliu fiscal 2011 phased maintenance availabilities. All modification funds will expire at the end of the fiscal year.

General Dynamics will plan and execute depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities.

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by October 2011.  Contract funds in the amount of $18, 092, 326 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
