An official with Boeing (NYSE: BA) said the company plans to make smaller bolt-on acquisitions in the services sector in an effort to increase revenue of the firm™s defense, space and security business, Bloomberg reported Monday.
Leanne Caret, CEO of Boeing™s defense, space and security business, said Boeing plans to expand its presence in the areas of aerial refueling tankers, satellites, rotor craft, services, autonomous vehicles and human space flight as the company looks to retire its F-15 and F/A-18 fighter aircraft models over the next decade, Julie Johnson writes.
œWe are not vacating the spaces not mentioned, said Caret, who was named president and CEO of the BDS business in February.
œIn parallel, we need to evolve our core business and that involves things such as fighters, other big programs that we have invested in over the years, she told reporters Sunday, Johnson reports.
Caret added that Boeing is always exploring possible business expansion opportunities that include larger acquisitions, according to a report by Andrea Shalal for Reuters.
