Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has appointed Executive Vice President Karen Dahut as head of the McLean, Virginia-based firm’s civil commercial group and fellow EVP Susan Penfield as chief of the Strategic Innovation Group — the consulting contractor’s internal innovation-focused organization.
Both Dahut and Penfield will assume their new roles on April 1, Booz Allen said Monday.
Susan Penfield
Dahut, a 14-year company veteran who established SIG and has led the organization for three years, will be responsible for the delivery of technology, strategic and analytic platforms and services to the firm’s commercial and federal government clients.
She previously served as head of Booz Allens analytics and U.S. Navy businesses.
Before Booz Allen, Dahut worked as a comptroller at the Navys biomedical research institute.
Penfield, a 20-year firm veteran and inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016, will work to advance innovation efforts within the SIG group in her new leadership role.
She previously led SIG’s innovation, culture, ventures and solutions team and oversaw efforts to construct an internal and external ecosystem.
Prior to SIG, Penfield oversaw the firms health business that works to implement technology systems and platforms for federal and commercial clients.
