OPEXUS and Casepoint have merged and received a majority investment from software investment firm Thoma Bravo to form a combined entity that will offer data discovery platforms and process management software to government and commercial customers in North America.
According to a joint release published Monday, OPEXUS CEO Howard Langsam will lead the combined company, which will be headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Vishal Rajpara, founder and chief technology officer of Casepoint, will serve on the combined entity’s executive leadership team.
“There is a growing need for high-quality data management in the public sector, with government agencies increasingly seeking to be as efficient, transparent, and accountable as possible,” said Langsam. “The addition of Casepoint’s data discovery technology and Thoma Bravo’s impressive software and operational expertise will help us meet this demand and accelerate our expansion in the GovTech market, as well as expand our coverage of enterprise customers.”
OPEXUS’ existing investor Gemspring Capital and Casepoint shareholders will retain minority interests in the combined company.
“As one firm, we are poised to enhance our offerings, scale our operations, and capture the growing demand for enterprise data software,” said Haresh Bhungalia, chief executive of Casepoint.
Jean Stack, managing director at Baird and a Wash100 Award recipient, told GovCon Wire that the financial services firm represented Casepoint.
“SaaS software deals in federal will continue to gain momentum!” she added.
