General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology business has secured a potential $449.9 million task order from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide hosting, operations and maintenance support services for CMS’ integrated accounting system.
CMS will obligate $1.3 million in funding to GDIT and expects contract work to run through May 31, 2031, according to an award notice published Friday in the Federal Procurement Data System.
The Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System is designed to help CMS centralize and standardize federal financial accounting functions for all of its programs, including Medicare Fee-for-Service and Medicare Secondary Payer programs, according to a request for information published in December 2022.
HIGLAS contains the agency’s budget and financial systems of record and business intelligence reporting applications supporting $1.6 trillion in outlays each year. The system supports more than 120 million Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries by enabling CMS to process an average of 4.5 million Medicare claims per day.
G2Xchange Health reported CMS received two offers for the order, which was awarded through the General Services Administration’s Alliant 2 contract vehicle.
