AeroVironment Signs $120M Cash-Stock Deal for Tomahawk Robotics

AeroVironment (Nasdaq: AVAV) has agreed to buy Tomahawk Robotics, a developer of artificial intelligence-based command and control systems, for $120 million in cash and stock.

The deal would allow both companies to integrate technology products into a platform that could support unmanned systems interconnection and interoperability for defense customers, AeroVironment said Tuesday.

Tomahawk Robotics’ Kinesis Ecosystem is designed to help connect human-machine teams across a tactical network to facilitate targeted situational awareness and precision strike operations.

The control system was integrated into AeroVironment’s Raven and Puma unmanned aerial systems in 2022.

Wahid Nawabi, chairman and CEO of AeroVironment, said the company plans to integrate Tomahawk Robotics into its small UAS business unit and introduce the latter to a network of over 55 allied nations.
