The State Department has approved a potential $250 million foreign military sale of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, manufactured by Oshkosh‘s (NYSE: OSK) defense subsidiary, to the government of Slovakia.
The FMS request comprises 192 JLTV heavy gun carriers and related equipment such as common remote weapons stations, quick change barrels, grenade launchers, machine guns and chemical agent detectors, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.
Services under the proposed sale include training, publications, logistics and program support.
DSCA noted the JLTV heavy gun carriers will replace Soviet-era personnel carriers used by Slovakia’s land forces.
The possible transaction will not require the deployment of contractor and government representatives to the European country.
