Textron Delivers 1st Beechcraft T-6C Texan II Trainer to Tunisia

The Tunisian air force has accepted the delivery of a Beechcraft T-6C Texan II integrated military training aircraft manufactured by Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) aviation defense subsidiary under a foreign military sales agreement.

The aircraft is the first of the eight Textron Aviation Defense-designed military flight trainers for Tunisia, and is planned to support operations at Sfax Air Base, the company said Tuesday.

The FMS customer is expected to be provided with the second T-6C aircraft in late 2022 and the remaining six trainers in 2023.

“Tunisia is the thirteenth nation to acquire the T-6 and has now taken delivery of the 1,001st T-6 manufactured by our team in Wichita,” said Fouad Kasri, director of sales and strategy for Africa and the Middle East at Textron Aviation Defense.

The company also provides spare engines, aircraft support equipment and training services for pilots and maintenance professionals as part of the deal.

Pilot training commenced on Oct. 31 at the company’s facilities in Wichita, Kansas.
