Kymeta Names Nicole Piasecki as Board Member, Adds Fran Beaudette to Advisory Board

Kymeta has announced the appointment of aerospace industry veteran Nicole Piasecki to the board of directors and Fran Beaudette, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, to the board of advisers.

Piasecki has more than 35 years of experience at Boeing (NYSE: BA) and United Technologies Corp. and her appointment comes following the retirement of Steve Spengler from the board after five years of service, Kymeta said Tuesday.

She held leadership positions at Boeing, including head of marketing for the commercial division and president of the company’s Japanese arm, and was former chairman of the board at Seattle University. She sits on the boards of BAE Systems, Weyerhaeuser Co. and Howmet Aerospace.

Piasecki previously served on the Federal Aviation Authority Management Advisory Board, the Department of Transportation’s future of aviation advisory committee and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

S. Douglas Hutcheson, executive chairperson and co-CEO of Kymeta, said Piasecki brings to the board her experience in the commercial aviation industry and her insight and expertise will help the company explore the “potential for global satellite and cellular broadband communications while on the move.”

Beaudette spent 32 years in the Army, where he served as commanding general of Army Special Operations Command, which is responsible for training, equipping and organizing the service’s special operations.

Hutcheson said Beaudette’s military experience will be key as the company continues to make advances in land mobility and littoral marine environments.

He brings the insight of what is required down range and the support logistics to insure we meet the mission requirement,” Hutcheson added.
