General Motors‘ (NYSE: GM) defense subsidiary has established a new arm focused on expanding the company’s global marketplace footprint through delivery of products and services to international defense and government customers.
General Defense‘s international entity will offer technologies for electric, autonomous and connected vehicles of U.S. allies and partners to meet their mobility requirements, the company said.
Commenting on the business establishment, Steve duMont, president of GM Defense, said, “As we continue to explore opportunities across North America, Europe, the Middle East, the Indo Pacific region and beyond, we look forward to leveraging commercial technology to modernize the mobility capabilities of allied armed forces around the world.”
GM Defense International will have access to the parent company’s manufacturing and global supply chain as well as its $35 billion transformational technology investment.
It will also be backed by a team tasked to create and strengthen customer relationships.
