Gitlin is the seventh independent director to join Boeing’s board since April 2019 and will serve on the board’s aerospace safety and finance committees, the company said Tuesday.
He has served as chairman and CEO of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems provider Carrier since June 2019.
His two-decade industry experience also covers leadership positions at UTC Aerospace Systems, Hamilton Sundstrand and Pratt & Whitney.
