BAE Receives $97M Contract Modification for Army Vehicle Production

BAE Systems has secured a three-year, $97.3 million contract modification to produce additional M109A7 self-propelled howitzers for the U.S. Army.

The company will also continue to supply the service branch with M992A3 carrier, ammunition, tracked vehicles, the Department of Defense said Friday.

BAE’s howitzer platform is designed to provide indirect fire support for armored brigade combat teams and the manufacture’s CAT offering is intended to store and resupply ammunition for self-propelled howitzers.

The two ground vehicles employ the same chassis.

The Army obligated the full amount of the modification using weapons and tracked combat vehicle procurement funds for fiscal years 2020 and 2021.
