Jim Blankenhorn to Head Amentum’s Technical Services Business

Jim Blankenhorn, senior vice president of operations at Amentum and a retired U.S. Army brigadier general, has been appointed to serve as head of the company’s technical services business starting Monday.

In his new role, Blankenhorn will manage an organization that works with government and commercial clients to operate complex facilities, Amentum said Thursday.

Amentum’s technical services unit serves a customer base that includes the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Energy and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Blankenhorn joined the company in 2020 when private equity firms American Securities and Lindsay Goldberg acquired the management services group from AECOM (NYSE: ACM).

His three-decade career also includes time as chief operating officer of the Nuclear Waste Partnership at DOE’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, deputy project manager of West Valley Environmental Services and program director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Waste Disposition Project.
