Fairbanks Morse Defense Books $230M in Military Sealift Command, Navy Contracts

The service division of Fairbanks Morse Defense has secured $230 million in contracts to help Military Sealift Command maintain various ship classes and to repair emergency diesel generators for U.S. Navy submarines.

A potential five-year $170 million contract with MSC will include technical support for command platforms such as T-AKR vehicle cargo ships and T-AO 205 fleet oilers, Fairbanks Morse Defense said Tuesday.

This award also entails technical documentation, configuration management and parts supply.

The Navy awarded the company multiple contracts worth up to $60 million combined, including a five-year basic ordering agreement and a four-year time-and-materials contract for EDG repairs.

Services are intended for assessment and restoration programs associated with EDGs of Seawolf-, Ohio- and Los Angeles-class submarines.
